Have leftover quilt blocks? Give them an adventure of their own with the RePlay Backpack pattern! Designed by Kate Colleran and Kris Poor, this clever project transforms orphaned 6”, 8”, 10”, or 12” blocks into a stylish backpack—complete with a handy zippered exterior pocket.

The RePlay Backpack pattern is part of our Re-Imagine series for leftover blocks. This pattern also works for novelty prints, small panels, embroidery projects, pre-cut strips, or scraps!

The pattern does not provide instructions for the blocks shown, allowing quilters the flexibility to select any blocks they prefer.

Finished Sizes:

• 6” block backpack: 14” x 10” x 2”
• 8” block backpack: 15½” x 11½” x 2 ½”
• 10” block backpack: 17” x 12” x 3”
• 12” block backpack: 18” x 13” x 4”
