Make Mine a Mini!

Kristine Poor

Hello from the Poorhouse!

We have had multiple requests from folks that want to make mini Fold'n Stitch Wreaths - they are just so cute! So, if you have the pattern, I am going to explain what you need to do to "shrink" that wreath!!

  • You must have the original Fold'n Stitch Wreath pattern! If you need to buy one-either get it from your local quilt shop or go on over to Stina's to order it!
  • Take your template, make a copy and reduce the size of the template according to the finished size that you are looking for. You can take the template to an office supply store and ask them to do this or reduce on your home copy machine. How to decide the size?

  1. Measure the longest edges of the reduced template that you have just created. That is the size of the foam square(s) you will need.
  2. From the size of the foam square, work backwards and to determine the new sizes of the Front and Back squares (add for seam allowances).
  3. Subtract to create the applique sizes.
  4. Now you are ready to sew!
Take a look at the pictures below: The mini wreath that I am showing is an 80% reduction along with the standard size.

I hope you have fun making a mini!!

Keep on stitching!

-Kris
